This course includes information on Cannabidiols and how they interact with the endocannabinoid system to assist clients with maintaining homeostasis. What are CBDs, and how they are procured is also covered. The course includes a Full Body CBD massage protocol. The 2018 Farm Bill federally legalized hemp and hemp-derived products, including CBD, as long as the THC concentration is 0.3% or less. For topical CBD products used in massage, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has indicated that they are exempt from control under the Controlled Substances Act. There is no federal prohibition on massage therapists using CBD products as long as the product is derived from hemp and contains less than 0.3% THC. However, state and local regulations vary, and some jurisdictions have stricter rules or licensing board requirements that massage therapists must follow. Always check with your state and local government before performing a CBD massage.
